The George Hotel Electricity Tender

The George Hotel

Electricity Tender

20% Reduction in Electricity Utility Costs

Problem

The George Hotel in Christchurch had a fixed term contract that was coming to an end. The contract was previously negotiated at a time when the electricity costs in New Zealand were high due to a range of climatic factors, hence they were interested in investigating alternative suppliers and pricing structures to reduce energy costs.

Solution

DETA Consulting managed an electricity tender process, collating energy data from the George and using this to collect prices from each major electricity retailer. DETA presented this in an easy to understand report so that the George could make an informed business decision.

Outcome

A change of retailer saved the George more than 20% of their electricity costs overnight.
