Energy Management Programme

Five Different Sites & 1,385 Tonnes of Carbon Emission Reduction Per Year

Problem

Graymont is one of New Zealand's largest burnt lime producers. Graymont consume significant amounts of energy in their kilns, therefore, were wanting to implement strategies to reduce energy usage at site.

Solution

DETA has helped with implementing strategies through the use of an Energy Management Programme and developing several projects that deliver tangible energy reduction.

Outcome

Across the five different sites, DETA has aided in the annual energy savings of 3,490,000 kWh, equating to 1,385 tonnes less of carbon emissions every year. With an on-going partnership there is potential for many more savings.
