Heat Pumps Could Save 1,161 MWh of Energy and 262 tCO2e of Carbon per Year

Problem

Regional Facilities Auckland encompasses many businesses through Auckland including Auckland town hall, Auckland zoo, Aotea centre and many more. One of these sites is the Auckland art gallery in which RFA were interested in the energy use and electrification of heat services.

Solution

On the back of an energy benchmarking project of the art gallery, a feasibility study was conducted to review the existing heating system and potential alternatives.

Outcome

It was recommended that heat pumps be utilised for heating needs, which could potentially reduce energy usage by 1,161 MWh and 262 tCO2e per year.
