Problem

As part of a nationwide strategy, Fonterra were looking at ways to reduce their water usage over a number of key sites.

Solution

Following on from previous projects at Hautapu and Reporoa this work included development of a comprehensive water split, detailing how water is used in the various site factories.

Outcome

The water audit identified a wide variety of attractive opportunities that were expected reduce site annual water consumption by a total of 16.5%.
