Annual Energy Spend Reduced by Almost $240,000 at a Payback < 2.5 Years

Problem

DETA worked with Verkerks and their Ashburton Meat Processors site on energy reporting and efficiency. During an audit, DETA identified an opportunity for a high temperature heat pump at site – the first in New Zealand – to reduce energy costs but also resolve capacity issues site was experiencing.

Solution

DETA developed the project business case in conjunction with Verkerks and verified the performance of the project upon completion.

Outcome

The unit was installed in 2013 and reduced the sites annual energy spend by almost $240,000 at payback of less than 2.5 years.
