Port Otago Energy Management Programme

Port Otago

Energy Management Programme

$160,000 Annual Savings & 530 MWh Per Annum Energy Savings

Problem

Following a revealing energy audit, Port Otago realised that the energy reduction task at hand required external support to assist the delivery of a coordinated energy management programme.

Solution

DETA Consulting worked with Port Otago to develop an inclusive energy management programme that had buy-in from across the entire port to deliver long term energy reduction.

Outcome

530 MWh/annum saved. Equivalent to $160,000/yr (or the energy required for the Queen Mary 2 to move 60.5 km) at a payback of 2 years.
