Heat Recovery Project Management

8 GWh/annum Saved, or 9.4% of Their Site Energy Consumption

Problem

Hot water is an expensive commodity at meat processing sites. ANZCO Canterbury’s hot water was the most expensive within the ANZCO group due to the way it was heated.

Solution

DETA Consulting designed a solution to recover heat from the neighbouring rendering plant to preheat site water, and increase the storage capacity of the hot water system.

Outcome

8 GWh/annum saved. Equivalent to $1.1M/yr, 9.4% of their site energy consumption, (or the energy cost of 32,000 m² of office space).
