NZ Sugar Energy Graduate Support Role

NZ Sugar

Energy Graduate Support Role

$250,000 & 10 GWh Annual Savings

Problem

NZ Sugar has been operating from its current site for 125 years. This provides NZ Sugar with a great story, however, with age comes technologies and systems that are not as energy efficient as today's.

Solution

DETA has contracted a graduate Engineer to NZ sugar to complete an Energy Graduate Support role. The graduate engineer will be based on-site for the majority of the contracted period. The role is to provide technical and project support in defining, analysing and delivering energy conservation measures.

Outcome

The target energy savings of the project were 3.0 GWh/year, equating to approximately $135,000 per annum. So far, the project has achieved over 10 GWh/year, equating to $250,000 per annum.
