Deaerator Replacement Project

Reduction in Water Treatment and Maintenance Costs

Problem

Alliance Smithfield's Deaerator which removes oxygen and carbon dioxide from boiler feed water had developed holes in the side of it. A repair job was done, however, future use beyond the current season was condemned. Due to the almost continual operation of the Deaerator a short install window was issued.

Solution

DETA to deliver a complete replacement of the Deaerator in five days. Installation involved removal of roof and old equipment, and installation of the new equipment.

Outcome

The DETA led project was successfully implemented resulting in OPEX savings, reduction in water treatment, and anticipated maintenance costs.
